Around since 1923, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. We have represented the voice of people most affected by mental health problems in Scotland for almost 100 years. Today, in over 60 communities we work with adults and young people providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education, among others.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior practitioner to join the teams at Way Forward Care at home and housing support service. The Way Forward Service delivers from 3 sites based in Maryhill, Broomhill and Govan areas of Glasgow. The Senior practitioner will provide direction and guidance to a team of Practitioners supporting individuals within individual flats and their communities to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Way Forward supports people with complex mental health issues in all aspects of their day-to-day living offering emotional and practical support to encourage them to live fulfilled and meaningful lives. Working with service users to define their own support plans the Senior Practitioner will coordinate, evaluate and review this support while providing mentorship to Practitioners.

What we are looking for

We will ask you to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) membership scheme, and register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). We’re looking for someone with great people skills who are honest, reliable and resilient in challenging situations. You should be motivated and passionate about leading people to reach their full potential.

As senior practitioner you will typically be Mon-Fri, however, there may be a requirement to work some weekends, sleepovers and participate in the ‘on call’ rota.
