Role

We are seeking to bring on board an exceptional Trust Director who will spearhead our strategy, inspire our staff and lead the Countryside Trust to reach its full potential.

You will be working with a talented team of experienced staff and an exceptional Board who are passionate about making a difference. People are at the heart of everything we do, and as Trust Director you will have the opportunity to impact on people living in the area and to take us further in our aim of conserving and improving the landscape and ecology of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

The Trust Director will work with and be accountable to a skilled and active Board of Trustees, being responsible for all aspects of the strategy, planning, resourcing, operational performance, communications, and governance of the Trust.

The post holder will:

  • Provide visible, inspiring, and effective senior leadership, direction and oversight to the Trust and its staff in achieving the organisation’s vision and mission.
  • Lead the strategic direction of the organisation and ensure that the Trust delivers impactful projects and activities.
  • Ensure the sustainability of the organisation, with a focus on increasing the number and diversity of income streams and exploring potential opportunities.
  • Maintain and enhance the reputation and role of the Trust, working collaboratively with partners and engaging effectively with communities.

Location

The Trust’s work base is in Balloch. We share premises with the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority, allowing for easy collaboration with a close partner organisation. The Trust Director will travel regularly to represent the Trust across our beneficiary areas and throughout Scotland and they will be expected to be present for significant periods of time at the Balloch office. Hybrid working will be considered.

We will welcome applications from people looking for either part time/job share arrangements or in taking the post for a minimum of two years as a secondment.
