Role

An exciting opportunity to join our Walking for Health (WFH) Team

Paths for All is a Scottish Charity. We have a very clear focus. We want to get Scotland walking: Everyone. Everyday. Everywhere.

Our vision is for Scotland to be a walking nation. We want everyone to have the opportunity to be active every day, creating a happier, healthier and greener Scotland. A key element of this work involves encouraging behaviour change and participation in daily activity through the right programmes, infrastructure and community opportunities.

Our Walking for Health team is looking for a Development Officer to support our programme of training, designed to provide volunteer Walk Leaders and project staff with the knowledge, skills and confidence to lead and deliver Health Walks in their community. If you are passionate about empowering communities to improve health, tackle inactivity and health inequalities and positively impact well-being on a population-wide scale, this could be the job for you!

Day to day tasks for the postholder will include supporting the smooth running of our busy training programme, managing a community of practice for our trainers, and promoting uptake of strength and balance activity with our target audiences.

The successful candidate will enjoy working to transform the lives of people across Scotland through the successful delivery of our Walking for Health and Strength and Balance programmes. They will thrive in a busy environment, managing a wide range of projects and activities.

If you’re looking for a new challenge in a varied role, and you’re interested in supporting communities to thrive and reducing health inequalities and working towards net-zero, we’d love to hear from you.

We offer the opportunity to be part of an organisation that recognises staff as our most valued asset. Attractive employment conditions include a contributory pension scheme and flexi-time policy. Paths for All has achieved the Healthy Working Lives Gold Award.
