Role

After 3 years of steady growth the Ripple Board of Trustees has recently undergone a period of financial, strategic and forward planning.

This has led to our desire to recruit a Service Manager to

  • provide effective dynamic and inspirational leadership, guidance and direction to Ripple staff, and to deputise for the Director:
  • ensure the achievement of the Ripple’s goals and objectives and
  • manage all Ripple projects and services efficiently and effectively on a day-to-day basis

The Ripple

The Ripple is a community anchor organisation led by local people that harnesses the skills and experience of its 100+ volunteers to provide a wide range of well-used services and opportunities. Restalrig, Lochend & Craigentinny is a disadvantaged, vulnerable and fragile community, amongst the most deprived in Scotland, our individuals and families face the challenges that poverty, health, and social inequalities bring on a daily basis.

The Ripple is rooted in the local community, provides a focus and a ‘sense of belonging’ for an area with little other social or economic investment. Our aim is to tackle poverty and inequality by listening to and then taking action with local people to regenerate our community. We respond to local priorities, circumstances and needs in a sustainable way to help the people of Restalrig, Lochend and Craigentinny to help themselves to:

  • Reduce poverty
  • Improve life chances and opportunities
  • Live healthier lives
  • Shape their own future
  • Strengthen the role and offering of the Ripple
  • Achieve shared ambitions through collaborative partnerships
  • Contribute to a fair and just transition to a resilient climate and
  • Feel valued, connected and influential

We are looking for someone who has the relevant experience, values and commitment to maintain and develop our position in the community, promoting, innovation, community spirit, determination and health & wellbeing that has a positive impact on the local economy, local environment and local employment.
