We have an exciting opportunity for someone with lived experience to join our Midlothian Community Mental Health and Wellbeing team.
This role is funded by MELDAP (Midlothian and East Lothian Drug and Alcohol Partnership). We are recruiting a Women’s Peer Support Worker. The post provides and promotes peer support to women living with and recovering from mental health issues, substance use and involvement with criminal justice.
Successful applicants will facilitate and co-facilitate recovery-focused, and trauma informed groups as well as deliver one to one support. You will work in a person centered and strength-based way. One to one support and groups will be delivered in various recovery and community venues across Midlothian or on video platforms such as Zoom. Successful applicants will use their lived experience to support others.
All staff are currently working in a blended way with access to an office base, community work, and homeworking. Travel is required across Midlothian. Flexibility in working hours will also be expected to meet the needs of people we support. This will include some regular evening work.
