Role

You First Advocacy provide issue based advocacy support to vulnerable individuals in Renfrewshire.

This is an exciting and challenging post for a well organised person who supports social justice and the rights of vulnerable individuals.

You will primarily, but not exclusively, work with individuals with mental health and/or learning disabilities, however we cover many adult service user groups.

This post will primarily be to provide advocacy support for individuals who are subject to legislation relating to the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 Tribunal Hearing processes. You will also be expected to provide generic advocacy to individuals in the community and hospitals. It is desirable that you have knowledge and experience of advocacy and of delivering a service to meet service users’ needs.

You must have excellent recording and communication skills and will be a strong partnership worker with good problem solving skills. You should have an SVQ 3 or equivalent, or have a willingness to undertake this qualification.
