We are excited to be recruiting for a new communications officer to join our team. If you are passionate about using your communication skills to make a real change to people’s lives, then this could be the ideal role for you.

See Me is the national programme to end mental health stigma and discrimination. Our vision is for a fairer and more inclusive Scotland, free from mental health stigma and discrimination.

We are funded by the Scottish Government and managed by SAMH and The Mental Health Foundation and influencing change is what the programme is all about.

See Me’s Communications and Public Affairs team are responsible for ensuring that the right people hear about what we are doing, that we reach new and expanding audiences, and that we influence change at scale.

This role will be responsible for ensuring that the work of the See Me programme is communicated to the right audience through a variety of channels. The role will work closely with the programme team to provide communications support through the development and delivery of projects.

What will you do

1. Provide communications support to the programme team in the development of their work, developing communications for workplaces, communities, health and social care and education and young people.

2. Draft and publish marketing content for a variety of communications activity, including See Me website, mail outs, press releases and partner communications.

3. Produce targeted communications to different audiences.

4. Work sensitively and professionally with people with lived experience of mental health problems, including our volunteers to ensure they are effectively and safely involved in the design and delivery of our work.

5. Support the Communications and Public Affairs Manager and Senior Communications Officer in developing and delivering targeted campaigns across a variety of platforms
