Role

We are looking for a new Community Development Officer will lead a programme of activity aiming to increase LGBTIQ+ people’s engagement with sport and physical activity, and to improve health, mental wellbeing and social connectedness of LGBTIQ+ people across Perthshire. Through this work we aim to build a vibrant and connected local LGBTIQ+ sport and physical activity community, and to ensure this is connected to similar activity around Scotland.

The successful applicant will:

●Support and promote the engagement of LGBTIQ+ people across Perthshire in physical activity, sport and the outdoors.

●Work in partnership with LGBTIQ+ people in Perthshire ensuring that their experiences and views are directly embedded into the project and to the wider work of LEAP Sports.

●Develop leadership, volunteering and activism skills and opportunities for LGBTIQ+ people.

●Create local networks and engage with them in the planning of the Qeltic Games event that is scheduled for August 2023.

●Work with local stakeholders to organise and support key events locally to raise awareness of equality issues, improve access and participation and to develop opportunities for LGBTIQ+ people.

●Share relevant learning through local networks, digital platforms and national projects.
