Epilepsy Scotland wants to ensure the needs of people with epilepsy are met and works to campaign for improved health and social care, better information provision, fairer access to employment and benefits, and an end to stigma. We aim to empower people with epilepsy to maximise their wellbeing and to fulfil whatever their potential might be.
Job Summary
We are seeking to appoint a full-time Policy and Communications Managers, senior post within the Management Team. The Policy and Communications Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of our Policy and Communications Strategies.
The Policy and Communications Manager will use their skills and expertise to influence decision-makers to help Epilepsy Scotland achieve positive change for those living with epilepsy. This will be achieved through information, education and campaigning, to facilitate change in policy, practice and law. You will represent the charity at external meetings, act as a key spokesperson and ambassador for the charity, representing us in the media, with campaigners and senior stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in a similar role at managerial level. You will have exceptional skills in analysing data, developing written briefs, policy material and reports and have an excellent understanding of the health policy landscape as well as first-class knowledge of Scottish and UK parliamentary processes and legislative systems.
You will be an analytical thinker, have excellent influencing, stakeholder and communication skills.
