Role

The Scottish Civic Trust has an exciting opportunity available to work with us as our Doors Open Days Communications Officer. This is a part time position to commence as soon as possible, and until March 31st 2023 with the possibility of extending beyond that date.

The role will be based at the Scottish Civic Trust offices at 42 Miller Street, Glasgow G1 1DT. Remote working is not possible for this role.

The purpose of this role is to support the promotion of Doors Open Days, working closely with the National Coordinator. Doors Open Days welcomes almost 100,000 visitors each September from across the world. For many of our visitors, our online and print presence will be their first introduction to the festival. This role will play an important role within the Doors Open Days team and the continuing development of the festival. Acting as a liaison between Doors Open Days, our visitors and the media, the Doors Open Days Communications Officer will ensure that our public image, brand and messaging remain strong and consistent.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong interest in built heritage, such as historic buildings, monuments and parks.

All candidates should have basic proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and should be able to prepare and format reports, letters and other documents as required. They should also be competent in using Canva for basic graphic design.
