Role

An exciting and rare opportunity to join our flagship virtual team.

We provide a first point of contact for support with alcohol and drug use. You will provide direct support, information and advice to people who are looking to change. This can be online via our award winning webchat service or over the telephone/virtual face to face. You will be joining a supportive team, who are passionate about harm reduction and recovery. Primarily you will be assessing individuals who are looking for support in our commissioned areas and if appropriate delivering enhanced brief interventions. Working from home in this role will need an area you can work confidentially.

The role includes:

  • Brief interventions including harm reduction advice and low-level mental health support.
  • Referrals to drugs and alcohol treatment or mental health support services.
  • Booking appointments for those who are in areas served by We Are With You services.
  • Signposting to other support agencies such as housing, employment and health care organisations.
  • Providing existing service users with an additional way of making contact with their service, for requirements including re-scheduling appointments.
  • Providing general information and useful materials including directions to services, contact information or further resources.

What we’re looking for

You will be experienced in delivering interventions remotely over the phone. Understanding the different ways to communicate and the nuances of supporting via a typed medium will be required. Due to the nature of the role you can have many different scenarios in quick succession and being able to treat each person as an individual is pertinent. Wanting to get the best out of yourself and your colleagues.
