Role

The No.1 Befriending Agency is a vibrant local social enterprise that works to reduce loneliness and isolation. We endeavour to ensure that older people can thrive in later life. We work with our dedicated volunteers to provide the support that local older people need to live happy, healthy lives. We work to help older people stay connected with their communities, alleviating loneliness, improving health and wellbeing and making communities stronger through volunteering. Please view our 90 second film, vimeo.com/648991073, filmed to celebrate our Social Enterprise Scotland ‘Prove It’ award for social impact reporting in November 2021, to hear what our service users say about our organisation.

We are looking for an experienced Administrator with excellent IT skills to support the day-to-day operations of the heritage activities, befriending services and virtual event programme. The role also includes helping people get connected and learn to use digital platforms.

As the IT/Administrator, you will be part of a team working to support both service users and volunteers in different areas across Glasgow. This includes providing the administrative support to the volunteering team and liaising between the Co-ordinators to ensure that the clients can fully participate; and providing support during events to ensure accessibility, giving our clients the solutions and support they need to operate the technology successfully.

Candidates will ideally have worked on virtual events including webinars and broadcasts/live streaming previously. You should ideally be well versed in working with different platforms and software.

Acting as a project partner you will work towards establishing an excellent working relationship with our clients and continuously strive to improve the level of overall event service that the organisation provides. Connecting people with each other and the right information is mission-critical. Flexibility combined with strong organisational skills and good prioritisation abilities are key to success in this role. Occasional evening and weekend working will be necessary.
