Our I Bike Coordinator role is an exciting opportunity for you to influence change in the way children and families travel across Scotland, embedding active, sustainable travel into their everyday lives, in turn making people healthier and happier.
You will remotely lead a team of four I Bike Officers, who promote active travel in school communities across Inverness, Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Perth & Kinross. These areas may be changed in the future by mutual consent. Responsible for planning and logistics, to ensure we deliver efficiently, you will identify what capital requires invested in for the schools – bikes, bike repair stations, scooters - and liaise with suppliers to deliver the necessary equipment to the correct schools.
We work collaboratively, so you must develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, active travel delivery partners and other key partners; identifying and securing opportunities for expanding the team, funding and project locations.
You will work closely with the other I Bike Coordinators and the I Bike Manager, ensuring the project continues to be delivered, managed, monitored and evaluated within agreed timescales, budgets, and outcomes.
Some travel is expected in this role, with an expectation you will support in some activities being delivered with your I Bike Officers in schools. The remainder of the time, you will be working from home.
About you
You will build relationships easily; with demonstrable experience of leading, managing and motivating a team.
You should be an effective communicator, and able to alter your style easily to suit your audience which will range from partners to school age children. This skill will allow you to engage with our partners and different communities, allowing us to effectively deliver our projects, and promote active travel in Scotland.
With experience in project management, you will have delivered successful behaviour change, community or education programmes or initiatives; or worked within Scottish Education, community engagement projects, outdoor education or another relevant area.
