We are looking for two (or FTE) enthusiastic, empathic people to join Support in Mind Scotland and help us continue to deliver excellent mental health services across Fife.
Support in Mind Scotland is a leading national mental health charity providing incredible person-centred support across the nation.
We want you to join us in one of the best places to work, where your views and experience will help develop and deliver services that people want.
These Carer Support Worker posts will join our Fife Team and expand our support to Carers of people with Mental Health needs across Fife. Together we will continue to support Carers in identifying their personal priorities and outcomes, and together we will meet these new initiatives goals:
Digital Support: We will be providing digital support to Carers to help them build confidence and have improved access to friends, family and services particularly those in rural or hard to access communities. Do you have IT/Digital experience and would like to link these skills to improving the lives of Carers across Fife? We are looking for someone able to provide advice and support to carers in their homes on what digital technology they may require, with some assistance and support on how to use it.
Peer Support: We are promoting and expanding peer support between Carers. This work will involve us consulting with Carers on what they want and need and us developing an approach based on what they find useful and will engage with. We will be promoting support through 1 to 1 contact, paired contact and small groups.
Complex Needs: We are committed to building links between Mental Health and other specialist support providers. Individuals do not always fall into the one service definition and may well have multiple needs e.g. having Mental Health needs while being autistic. This worker will help us establish these links and help us break down barriers for Carers accessing services.
Health and Wellbeing: We are committed to improving the opportunities for carers across Fife who wish to promote their health and wellbeing. This person will help to identify and support local services that carers can access to promote their physical fitness post covid lockdown and their connections to groups and services in their locality. Carer Support Workers help Carers to feel connected to their loved ones and community, working towards aspirations and goals that they set themselves; that help them live life well. We build links with partner organisations across Fife, helping break down barriers and develop services that people want and need. These posts will report directly to the Service Manager for Support in Mind Scotland Fife Services
