City of Glasgow College is seeking to fill two non-executive vacancies on our Board. We are delighted to invite applications from people with a belief in the value of college education and a commitment to widening access, lifelong learning and the student experience.

• Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)

Our Board

Our Board, as the College’s governing body, is responsible for setting our strategic direction, ensuring its effective management and delivering high-quality learning and outcomes. Board members serve on a voluntary basis, with reasonable expenses reimbursed, and spend approximately 10 working days throughout the year to fulfil the core duties and responsibilities of their roles. Meetings are hybrid, take place in the late afternoon/early evening and last approximately two hours.

Established in 2018, Moray Rape Crisis provides therapeutic support, information and advocacy for adults and young people of all genders, aged 11 and over, in the Moray area, who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives, including rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. We also work directly with young people in schools and youth settings, and with strategic partners, towards preventing sexual violence.

We are looking for Trustees to join our dedicated Board of Trustees

We are seeking motivated Trustees to help govern our growing and developing service in Moray.

Working to intersectional feminist values, we are seeking a diverse range of women with a commitment to the work we do across Moray. We are particularly interested in applicants with knowledge and experience of HR, communications and marketing, fundraising, counselling and psychotherapy, trauma-informed practice, and equality and human rights.

About tsiMORAY

We are Moray’s Third Sector Interface. We support local charities, community groups, and social enterprises, helping them connect, grow and thrive. We do this by offering guidance, building capacity and linking them with the people, partners and resources they need. We also manage and distribute funds, support volunteering and help co-ordinate Moray’s Climate Action Network. In addition, we are the accountable body for the Moray Local Action Group, a group leading community-led local development in Moray.

sparqs is a charity funded by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), working with Scotland's university and college sectors. Our purpose is to ensure students are partners in shaping the quality of learning, making positive change to their own and others’ experience, however and wherever they learn. It aims to foster a culture of partnership between students and staff which enables the Scottish education sector to respond to challenges and realize its ambitions to provide the best possible experience for each and every student.

Volunteer Chair of Trustee Board

We are looking for a chair of Trustees who will lead our Board with integrity, insight and enthusiasm. This is an opportunity to guide a highly-regarded charity into its next exciting chapter.

As our new Chair you will have:

• Experience of being a strategic leader, including experience of working with a board either as a CEO/Director reporting to board, or as a board member/chair.
• Commitment and enthusiasm to the work of sparqs in terms of a student-led approach, role of student engagement in quality enhancement and value of partnership approaches.
• Ability to represent and promote the organisation publicly, acting as an ambassador and networker to further the attainment of organisational aims.
• Ability to influence, at a senior level, partner, and other stakeholder organisations particularly in the Scottish post-16 education sector.
• Commitment to the positive value of diversity, promoting equality and challenging discrimination and willingness to play an active role in creating an environment that promotes these values.
