Role

This is a great opportunity to work for a national children’s charity knowing that you are contributing to making positive difference to the lives of children in Scotland.

The Supporting The Third Sector (STTS) project works to ensure that the third sector can be meaningfully involved in children’s services planning processes to improve the lives of children, young people and families. The project supports an active Third Sector Interface network, delivers a training and capacity building programme for the third sector workforce, and feeds in the voices and experiences of local third sector organisations into national policy making processes.

As a Children in Scotland Assistant Policy Officer, you will contribute to and support the work of the Policy, Projects and Participation department, including our policy activity in relation to the Supporting the Third Sector Project. You will play an important role contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the project by providing policy and research activity, administrative, information and organisational support.

Location*

Children in Scotland is Edinburgh based but, until further notice, this role will be remote/home-based, with some travel to Edinburgh required for meetings and the option of use of office space in Edinburgh and/or Glasgow. Arrangements will be reviewed, with staff involvement, throughout the 2022-23 year.

About Children in Scotland

Giving all children in Scotland an equal chance to flourish is at the heart of everything we do.

By bringing together a network of people working with and for children, alongside children and young people themselves, we offer a broad, balanced and independent voice. We create solutions, provide support and develop positive change across all areas affecting children in Scotland. We do this by listening, gathering evidence, and applying and sharing our learning, while always working to uphold children’s rights.

Our range of knowledge and expertise means we can provide trusted support on issues as diverse as the people we work with and the varied lives of children and families in Scotland.
