Role

FASS is recruiting to a number of voluntary Board positions.

Can you help us help Fife people and families?

Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS) helps individuals and their loved ones tackle alcohol and drug misuse, and get their lives back on track. Last year we supported over 1700 people, and their families and communities, in dealing with issues of trauma, isolation and poor mental health.

FASS has worked in Fife for 45 years and is an ever learning and evolving organisation. Our specialists provide therapeutic and practical support, helping people avoid and recover from the serious impacts alcohol or drugs can have. We train and educate around the issues and work closely with other charity, NHS, Council and Police services to make Fife a better place for all.

Do you have skills that could help? All applications will be welcome—perhaps you have lived experience, or are from a minority ethnic group? You may have a specialism in health, finance, law, family work, marketing, media, digital, premises or organization development? We are looking for people who recognize the stigma that surrounds alcohol and drug misuse and can offer practical support. These roles are voluntary but reasonable personal expenses can be reimbursed.

"When I was approached to become a member of the board, I wasn’t sure what I would have to offer. I would say it gives you the opportunity to use your life experience to contribute to the organisation’s purpose and what they are hoping to provide in the community."

Mary McKay, FASS Trustee

As a Board member, you’ll be part of the team that leads on delivery of the FASS mission and decides how FASS is run. You don’t need to have Board experience—induction and training will be provided. We are looking for proactive participation and people willing to contribute to diversity of ideas and experience.
