The role
Do you want to develop your marketing skills whilst helping people in Scotland create warmer homes, reduce their energy bills, and lower their carbon footprint? We have an exciting opportunity for a marketing assistant to provide project management, digital marketing and content creation support to deliver a diverse range of programmes and activity. As part of Energy Saving Trust’s wider marketing and communications team, you’ll work with marketing professionals and energy experts to deliver your role.
What you’ll do
- You’ll support the marketing team to deliver annual marketing plans and assist with day-to-day marketing tasks.
- You’ll create and schedule social copy and creative assets and respond to comments on our social channels.
- You’ll assist with creating and editing website content such as news stories, blog posts and case studies.
- You’ll support with email marketing campaigns, events and collateral development.
What you’ll bring
- Writing and editing experience for social media, with the ability to turn complex issues into succinct, compelling content.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- An ability to work using your own initiative and manage and prioritise a busy workload.
- It would be advantageous but not essential if you have digital marketing experience/ knowledge including experience of using website content management systems, Hootsuite, Orlo, email marketing software and experience using design and basic video editing tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, Canva and Biteable.
This is a permanent position. We are open to flexible working patterns and blended (home and office-based) working is possible for this role.

Vice Convener – Ramblers Scotland Strategic Committee
About the Role
As Vice Convener of the Ramblers Scotland Strategic Committee (RSSC), you’ll play a key role in supporting the Convener and contributing to the strategic direction of our work. The committee oversees our activities in Scotland, helping to ensure that walking is accessible, enjoyable, and open to all.
This is a strategic and advisory role — there is no operational decision-making responsibility. You’ll collaborate closely with fellow volunteers and staff to help shape our campaigns, policies, and priorities, aligning your leadership with the organisation’s refreshed strategy — which emphasises removing barriers to walking, improving access for under-represented communities, and safeguarding natural spaces.
This volunteer role also provides an excellent career development opportunity — offering experience in governance, strategic planning, and leadership within a national charity.
This is a national volunteer role that involves quarterly in-person meetings, with occasional ad hoc sub-committee meetings (often online). While the role is unpaid, reasonable expenses (e.g. travel and subsistence) will be reimbursed.

Circular Economy Policy Officer

Circular Communities Scotland is a network membership organisation, dedicated to supporting the establishment of a thriving circular economy in Scotland. We support and represent repair, reuse and recycling charities and social enterprises across the country. Our members prevent valuable products and materials from entering landfill, create local jobs, economic opportunities, and help promote and create social and environmental justice in their communities.
This is a new role for the organisation and the Circular Economy Policy Officer will be responsible for:
- Developing and overseeing Circular Communities Scotland’s core circular economy policy positions.
- Promoting our reuse manifesto in the run up to the Scottish Elections in May 2026 including running a hustings style event.
- Running a post-election campaign targeting Members of Scottish Parliament (MSPs), our membership and wider stakeholder organisations.
- Working with Scottish Government to see key policy asks enacted.
- Working with our membership to involve them in our policy work.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a strong candidate who has a minimum of two years’ experience in a policy formation or campaigning role at a national level. The candidate will be able to quickly get up to speed with our circular economy policy positions and indeed develop these positions further. An ability to network and build relationships with civil servants and elected representatives is also important.
We require a dynamic and proactive individual who will be capable of planning, launching and sustaining a policy campaign to support our Reuse Manifesto. We are expecting candidates to have strong communication and interpersonal skills along with a proven track record in managing multiple delivery workstreams.
