Role
Waverly Care are looking for a Policy and Campaigns Officer to join us at a crucial time in our history as we work towards hepatitis C elimination, zero HIV transmissions and improved sexual health education for all in Scotland.
This position is a key role within the Corporate Services Team (which includes communications and policy, research and engagement, head office and fundraising). this newly created role will support the work of the Communications Manager and work closely with the Chief Executive and the senior management team.
As we move closer to the target of zero HIV transmissions by 2030, you will play a pivotal role in raising our profile and strengthening our relationships with decision makers. Our ambition is for Waverley Care to be at the forefront of shaping sexual health and blood borne virus policy in Scotland. In addition to influencing policy, we want to use our position to create public facing campaigns that will work to improve the lives of our services users, for example by tackling stigma and discrimination. You will also be responsible for developing relationships with the media.
We are looking for a highly engaged and motivated professional who can bring the following attributes to the role:

Purpose of role
We help young adults with additional support needs to realise their potential by providing person-centred education, life and social skills.
Under the guidance of the Deputy Head of Service, the Centre Manager will be responsible for the co-ordination, management and supervision of a staff team in the delivery of the TEENS+ Programme at the Ravenscroft Centre. The post holder will work closely with other members of the MDT team to ensure successful delivery of education programmes to our students in line with the organisational values.
The successful applicant for this post will be required to join for membership of the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Scheme.

Cancer Support Specialist

Ayrshire Cancer Support has operated since 1982, providing emotional support and practical help to those affected by cancer; this role will play a valuable part in supporting the services we offer.
As we continue to grow our services to meet increasing demand, we are seeking a caring and compassionate professional with excellent communication skills, who will support those affected by cancer who access our services. With your clinical experience, you will support the wider team with complex situations to achieve the very best person-centred support. You will be methodical, empathetic, resilient, and be able to manage the demands of ongoing emotionally intense work.
You will be a qualified and registered nurse or allied health professional with at least three years post qualification experience in an oncology setting. You will be passionate about delivering face to face, accessible cancer support in a local community setting, while remaining abreast of the national cancer landscape.
Reporting to our Director of Care Services, you will be joining an established and experienced team and will be responsible for providing expert patient information and support to help meet the emotional, practical and social needs of people affected by cancer. This varied role will also support a small team of volunteers that provide level one support to people affected by cancer.
This is a part time role based over 28 hours (4 days) per week, worked between Monday to Friday within our Support Centres in Kilmarnock and Ayr, and so a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
This role offers a 3-year fixed term contract, funded by the National Lottery.
Family Support Practitioner

Ayrshire Cancer Support has operated since 1982, providing emotional support and practical help to those affected by cancer; this role will play a valuable part in supporting the services we offer. Our vision is to deliver a person centred, accessible, holistic family support service for children and young people with a cancer diagnoses, affected by the diagnosis of someone close to them, or bereaved from cancer.
We are looking for a caring and compassionate Family Support Practitioner to deliver high-quality emotional, social and practical support to children and young people who are affected by cancer. Children and Young People Support is one of our 8 core services delivered by our Care Services Team.
A knowledge of the impact of cancer on families, together with the experience and confidence to undertake work with children and young people is essential, with an ability to assess and respond to need according to emotional, psychological and intellectual development and apply appropriate interventions and creative therapeutic approaches.
You will have demonstratable professional experience of developing meaningful relationships and engaging with individuals in a person-centred way, providing support to children and/or young people, both individually and within a group environment.
Reporting to our Children and Young People Services Lead, you will be joining an established and experienced team and will be responsible for providing expert support to help meet the emotional, practical and social needs of children and young people affected by cancer.
This is a full-time role based over 35 hours / 5 days per week, worked between Monday to Friday within our Support Centres in Kilmarnock and Ayr, and so a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential. We also require flexibility in relation to ‘after school’ activity, with regular evening (one per week) and occasional weekend work.
