Post holders will be based between our centres in Hamilton and Airdrie, and localities throughout Lanarkshire. Working from home/hybrid working may also be required.

The Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Carer Support Worker is a specialist role to support Lanarkshire Carers to deliver a culturally competent service to all BAME Carers. This role requires a strong commitment, desire, ability and preferably bilingual skills to reach out to carers from minority ethnic and disadvantaged backgrounds. The post holder will provide accessible information, advice, emotional and practical support that helps carers to achieve positive outcomes. It involves engaging with and developing relationships within hard to reach communities and building partnerships. The role includes raising awareness of carers from diverse backgrounds and establishing co-ordinated support by removing linguistic and cultural barriers in accessing Lanarkshire Carers and wider services.
