Then join us as we start this exciting new stage in re-developing our drop-in day centre to support recovery and promote wellbeing. The successful candidate will be part of a team developing, implementing and evaluating recovery based group work programmes to support service users to thrive
As a Development Worker, there’s no such a thing as a typical day – every day is interesting and varied. Being a good communicator is essential to be able to get on with people of all ages and from all backgrounds and you will also be liaising with other professionals.
No matter how complex a person's needs, whether they've tried support services or not in the past, you can provide person-centred support that helps individuals decrease isolation, increase independence, learn new skills, integrate into the community and make the most of every new opportunity.
You will offer high quality support, to help people take control, improve the quality of their lives and face the future with confidence.
Who are you?
- A compassionate, proactive and professional individual, highly motivated, hardworking and keen to support service users with housing, substance use or mental health issues.
- Experience in working with community groups – developing implementing a group work programme
- Experienced in providing recovery-focused support to service users in accordance with their individual needs.
- You will have well-honed skills in positive communication and engagement, and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for service users.
- You will have the maturity to work within a positive framework, supporting service users to maintain a healthy state of mental and emotional wellbeing
- You will have experience of working with Social Care
- You will have the ability to work flexible hours, out with the normal 9-5pm and weekends
- You will ideally possess a full current driving licence

Context
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Property and Maintenance Worker to join our property team. This Property role provides an opportunity to be part of our well-established Supported Accommodation Project which supports homeless and care experienced young people to develop independent living skills and transition to permanent accommodation. The Property and Maintenance Worker will support our West Lothian Housing Services team with practical, hands-on activities related to housing management, Health & Safety, Risk Assessments, and property refurbishment and renovation.

The Role:
The role of the Practitioner in our women's services is vital to help us achieve our aim of ensuring everyone has a home, a place in their community and a network of positive relationships that support them in building the life they want.
Practitioners recognise people’s strengths and work alongside them to build their confidence, self-efficacy, resilience, and motivation and help them feel safe and to heal from the trauma they have experienced. Practitioners also support people in developing practical skills, maximising their income, and developing healthier coping skills, problem-solving skills, social skills, and employability skills that will assist them in creating the life they want.
This role will be within one of our women's accommodation services, supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence and will require shift work.

The Supported Housing Worker role requires assisting in the management of the development thus ensuring the tenants are able to enjoy an acceptable standard of living in an environment which is clean, safe and friendly. You will be responsible for overseeing the wellbeing of the tenants and for assisting them in maintaining their independence.
As Housing Care Worker your role will involve working with our tenants to ensure they receive the support and personal care identified in their care plans. You will directly support tenants in their homes by providing individual advice, practical housing support assistance and personal care.
Both roles are to ensure that we are able to offer the best service to our tenants and make it possible for our tenants to continue enjoying as much independent living as they’re able.
