Then join us as we start this exciting new stage in re-developing our drop-in day centre to support recovery and promote wellbeing. The successful candidate will be part of a team developing, implementing and evaluating recovery based group work programmes to support service users to thrive

As a Development Worker, there’s no such a thing as a typical day – every day is interesting and varied. Being a good communicator is essential to be able to get on with people of all ages and from all backgrounds and you will also be liaising with other professionals.

No matter how complex a person's needs, whether they've tried support services or not in the past, you can provide person-centred support that helps individuals decrease isolation, increase independence, learn new skills, integrate into the community and make the most of every new opportunity.

You will offer high quality support, to help people take control, improve the quality of their lives and face the future with confidence.

Who are you?

  • A compassionate, proactive and professional individual, highly motivated, hardworking and keen to support service users with housing, substance use or mental health issues.
  • Experience in working with community groups – developing implementing a group work programme
  • Experienced in providing recovery-focused support to service users in accordance with their individual needs.
  • You will have well-honed skills in positive communication and engagement, and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for service users.
  • You will have the maturity to work within a positive framework, supporting service users to maintain a healthy state of mental and emotional wellbeing
  • You will have experience of working with Social Care
  • You will have the ability to work flexible hours, out with the normal 9-5pm and weekends
  • You will ideally possess a full current driving licence
