Role

Work with us to tackle financial insecurity in Edinburgh

Are you committed to ending poverty in the city of Edinburgh, to driving forward local and strategic partnerships to add value to anti-poverty work in the city, and to driving a strategy of practical support and system change? If so, join an organisation that shares your passion.

Edinburgh is facing a significant moment for tackling financial hardship in the city. According to the Edinburgh Poverty Commission Report, A Just Capital, the city hosts 78,000 people living in poverty, a figure we anticipate will be growing as a result of the pandemic and ongoing cost of living crisis. At Turn2us we agree with the report that poverty must be ended.

Turn2us has made a commitment to invest in the ambitions of A Just Capital. We believe that through the Edinburgh Trust, and the release of this investment, we can help play a key role in achieving the ambitions set out in the A Just Capital report to eradicate poverty in Edinburgh within the next ten years.

Our work in Edinburgh over the coming years will be developed in full partnership and co-production with people who have experienced not having enough money to live on. We will also build partnerships and work with key stakeholders plus employers across the city to support people facing life-changing events and to influence policy that can ensure everyone is financially secure by 2030.

To initiate this transformational piece of work, Turn2us is looking to appoint a Head of Edinburgh Trust to design and lead the delivery of an impactful strategy that influences systemic and long-term change for people facing financial insecurity in Edinburgh.

The role will be vital in building relationships with external partners, lived experts, the Edinburgh Trust team and other Turn2us colleagues to develop innovative programme approaches, that include grant-making to individuals and shifting power, to achieve high impact across the city.

We want to hear from candidates who are passionate about social justice and who want to make a positive difference to the lives of people struggling to keep their heads above water during this time of economic uncertainly.
