We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join the Phoenix Futures Scotland team and assist in leading our new and innovative National Specialist Family Service as Therapeutic Team Manager.
As a specialist addiction recovery charity and housing association, we have developed considerable expertise and support our clients and families at all stages of their recovery.
Once the service opens in Summer 2022 you will support the running of the day to day Therapeutic Community programme and lead the Therapeutic team to ensure high quality recovery focused delivery of a wide range of interventions which include a focus on individual and family development, recovery, parenting and health & well-being etc.
You will have experience of working with people and/or families with multiple needs including addiction and have a working knowledge of family interventions and support. As well as experience of developing and nurturing partnerships to ensure robust pathways and support are in place to ensure our family’s needs are fully met. You will be a passionate, motivating and nurturing leader, with experience of leading and supervising staff teams.

Who We Are Looking For
We’re looking for a compassionate and effective leader who can engage, inspire, and support others. You should have experience in adult social care, excellent communication skills, and a creative approach to problem-solving. You’ll bring:
- Experience in adult social care: You should have an SVQ 4 in Health and Social care, or be willing to work towards this, as well as experience leading or supporting teams in social care, with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities this role brings
- Leadership skills: You’re a supportive leader - approachable, adaptable, and able to empower your team, especially during times of change or challenge
- Problem-solving: Strong critical thinking and the ability to find solutions that make a positive impact on the people we support and your team
- Knowledge of the sector: A solid understanding of the Scottish Social Care sector, including regulatory bodies such as the Care Inspectorate and SSSC

About the role
As the Registered Manager, you will be an experienced leader leading a team working with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
As the Registered Manager you will:
- Maintain the continuing relevance of services to individuals’ needs and purchaser requirements by ongoing planning, monitoring and evaluation.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the service, managing significant budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and making financial decisions.
- Where a need or an opportunity is identified, lead on the development of new services, support business growth and maintain reputational excellence.
- Comply with governance, law and legislation including local authority compliance, Care Inspectorate (at level 5 and above), SSSC and safeguarding procedures.
- Support the senior management team in the streamlining, promotion and monitoring of quality assurance systems which meets the needs of individual services as well as the overall service delivery in the region.
- Develop, monitor and implement supervision and appraisal systems for staff.
About You
You will have passion and drive to take forward a well-established Service and Team. Be passionate; and committed to the overall aims and objectives of the service and have the belief that people can live fulfilling lives with the right support in place.
You should also have:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
- The ability to negotiate with a wide range of internal and external partners and build positive relationships including local authorities and housing associations.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload to meet a number of different and competing tasks in sometimes pressurised environment.
- Social Service and Health Care at level 9 (SCQF) or other speciality/qualification recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes as well as a relevant management qualification.

You will lead and support a team of practitioners to deliver high quality, trauma informed services that are safe, effective and responsive to the needs of the women and children we work with.
You will be an experienced supervisor or line manager with a strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and trauma informed practice. You will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to motivate others.
