Combat Stress was established in 1919. We are the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For over a century, we’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression.

Today we provide UK-wide support to veterans from every service and every conflict, on the phone and online, in the community and at our treatment centres. About the role:

The Senior Clinical Psychologist / CBT Therapist will have a key role within the Scotland team, providing collectively the highest quality services to veterans throughout Scotland. The organisation provides residential, outpatient, community and digital care and treatment to veterans with complex mental health issues.

This role with function as part of the multi-disciplinary team, actively contributing to its clinical and service success and to ensure services are accessible and as near to a veteran home as possible. Clinical supervision and leadership will be provided to Band 7 psychologists / CBT therapists across our Hub based and community teams.

General responsibilities include the workload management of the Band 7 Therapists in line with service need and actively contributing to the monitoring and reporting of psychological therapy team activity.

The postholder will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment using evidence-base trauma-focused CBT for Veterans with PTSD, complex-PTSD, depression, emotional dysregulation, inter and intrapersonal problems and other complex trauma-related mental health problems. They will also provide psychological consultation for the inter-disciplinary team and contribute to psychologically informed treatment planning, development of a reflective team approach and trauma-informed services.

This role is subject to a PVG check.
