Role
We seek a part-time Learning Coordinator to deliver non-formal and accredited learning programmes in Aberdeen City & Shire to individuals and small groups of disabled people, carers and those experiencing barriers to work and education.
The successful applicants will be committed to:
1)Engaging and supporting disabled people and carers to overcome barriers and embark on personalised learning journeys, making positive, sustained transitions into their chosen progression routes and positive destinations.
2)Being an active part of the Lead Scotland team as we develop new, exciting learning opportunities in the north of Scotland for the next three years.
You will be responsible for
1)Delivering and assessing one to one and small group, non-formal and accredited learning programmes to agreed targets as defined by our funder. You will deliver our accredited Community Action Leadership Award, the Adult Achievement Award and other courses as defined by learners.
2)Working alongside and supporting volunteers in delivering learning.
Experience of managing volunteers would be an advantage, as would a track record of experience in community learning and adult guidance and support.
This post will suit those who are passionate about the transformative power of adult learning, who have excellent communication skills and a flexible and creative approach to problem-solving.
You must be enthusiastic with good organisational skills and have previous experience of supporting disabled people experiencing a range of barriers, of working one-to-one with learners, and of designing and delivering learning programmes. A full driving licence and access to a car is essential to travel to homes and communities across this rural area. You will hold an Assessors Award or be willing to work towards this.
This post is home-based in Aberdeen City or Shire and involves regulated work for which a satisfactory PVG will be required. Lead Scotland has a Recruiting People with Convictions Policy.

Senior Support Worker - Esmond Street Service

The successful candidate will play a senior and supervisory role in the operation of our Esmond Street Service: a 22 place supported living project for older people with learning disability and/or complex needs. The successful applicant will have experience of support planning and review systems, and will be in a position to work on a shift-rota basis. She/he will have experience in a supported living setting, the ability to work on their own initiative, and have a positive, empowering and flexible approach to the support of people with learning disabilities. The post requires the successful candidate to be involved in the supervision and development of the staff team; including training, developing systems, mentoring and auditing. She/he should also possess an appropriate qualification, or be willing and able to achieve this within an agreed timescale.
Support Workers & Relief Support Workers

We are currently looking to recruit support workers to join our small team within Inclusion Alliance. The role involves supporting people with learning disabilities to be included in the community and lead an ordinary life. Your work would involve helping people to access educational, social, leisure and work or volunteering opportunities in the community.
No experience or formal qualifications are necessary for the role although a caring nature, positive attitude and a sense of fun are important characteristics to have. New staff will receive paid training and undertake shadow shifts with experienced staff members during induction. We want new staff to feel ready and able to work prior to working on their own for the first time.
We have various vacancies available including part time and relief/casual positions in various locations throughout Edinburgh.
• Working hours are based between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday

• £21,239 - £21,567 per annum, pro rata based on a 35 hour working week
• Relief/ Casual pay rate- £11.67 per hour
