Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a management post within Families Outside. This is a key role for a dynamic and passionate individual interested in making a real difference in the lives of families affected by imprisonment.

Families Outside is the only national charity in Scotland that works solely to support children and families affected by imprisonment. The Training & Development Manager post leads on the development, delivery and management of our training and awareness-raising programme delivered across Scotland to key professionals and community groups working with families affected by imprisonment. Training will be delivered both remotely and face-to-face in risk-assessed environments and, adopting a hybrid approach, the postholder will also further develop our training resources.

As part of the External Engagement team within Families Outside, you will be responsible for overseeing the work of the Training & Events Coordinator as well as assisting other members of the team to develop appropriate and relevant information for families and professionals in partnership with others and informed by families’ needs and views. Monitoring and evaluation of the Families Outside’s training programme’s effectiveness and success will be reported to the Head of External Engagement quarterly.

About you

Knowledge and experience of delivering learning programmes is essential, as is the ability to present to professionals across both the statutory and Third Sector. If you are a highly effective communicator, facilitator, and presenter, have a keen interest and skill in communicating to a wide audience in interesting and engaging ways, and the ability to monitor and evaluate Families Outside’s training programme, we would like to hear from you.

This role would be feasible for anyone in the central belt with a blend of home and office working.

This is an exciting role for the right applicant and comes at a time where Families Outside has undertaken a major restructuring programme and recently revised our Strategic Plan for the next 4 years.
