We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Support Assistant to join our Future Builders Project in Perth.
Future Builders is an innovative ‘live and work’ programme which helps young people in Perth break the cycle of homelessness.
This post is offered as a technical apprenticeship giving the successful candidate a pathway to achieving the SVQ level 3 in health and social care.
The Support Assistant Apprentice will provide practical and emotional support to young people aged 16-25 who are:
• Homeless and require support to access a tenancy
• Living in temporary accommodation, supporting them to move on from this unstable accommodation into a permanent home
• Living at home and experiencing family issues that may result in homelessness
The Support Assistant will be a key member of the team, working directly with young people on a 1:1 basis in Perth. The Support Assistant Apprentice will work in the community, with partner organisations and in young people’s tenancies. The aim of the Support Assistant Apprentice is to ensure that a young person’s experience of homelessness is rare, brief and non-recurring.
The Support Assistant Apprentice will also be involved in hands-on activities related to housing management and property refurbishment and renovation, with support and training provided.
The Support Assistant Apprentice will work alongside the Project Coordinator and will be guided on support requirements. The Project Worker is responsible for case management and will lead on coordinating with other agencies.
