Role

Are you passionate about the local church? Are you drawn to support those in great need?

Debt Centre for East Lothian

Come and work with us! We’re looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and hard-working individual to grow our Debt centre and build a team of volunteers in 2022.

We are partnering with CAP to offer their award-winning Debt Help service to families in East Lothian. Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a national charity working through local churches, delivering hope, support, and practical solutions for thousands of people across the UK affected by poverty and its associated causes.

This role is an opportunity to continue to build a brilliant Debt Centre for the East Lothian region, recruiting, growing and managing a team of volunteers in collaboration with other local churches. Our CAP Centre was one of the busiest Debt Centres in Scotland during the pandemic and we are looking for the right person to help us build on the good reputation we have locally as safe people to reach out to for help. We are confident that with the larger offering and integration of our Lighthouse Community Projects and church community, we are well placed to offer holistic help to families in the local area as they work with CAP to go debt-free.

Debt Centre Manager

The role of the local Debt Centre Manager will be to administer, promote, network, lead and inspire on CAP Debt Help at a local level. This will include communicating CAP’s debt advice to clients, engaging with external referral sources, recruiting and training volunteers, and liaising with church partners. Our Manager will positively reflect the Christian faith and core values of the charity, and find a place of mutual support and encouragement as part of the wider Lighthouse staff team.

Application notes

Closing date for applications is 5pm on 4th March 2022.

A two part interview process will take place for this role.

If you are interested please contact hello@lighthousecentral.co.uk for a complete role profile and information on how to apply.

(Please note, the post has an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a Christian and ideally to be/become a worshipping member of Lighthouse Church family as the Debt Centre operates within the vision and value of the church’s wider commitment to the local community. At this point however, we would still accept applications from outwith the Lighthouse Church family.)
