We are currently looking for a Training & Engagement Co-ordinator to join our Scotland Equate team based at Craiglockhart Campus in Edinburgh.

We are recognised as the national expert in gender equality throughout the STEM sectors and having just secured our Scottish Government funding for the next three years, we are pushing forward with our work, communicating with women, students, industry and legislators to delivery on our strategy.

The Role

Playing a key role in the team, you will work with and build relationships with Employers and industry to support the wider Equate Team activities and objectives. You will be responsible for the project management, organisation and co-ordination of workshops and experiential learning events.

You will also deliver training for our income generation activity and supporting our free to use services for women in STEM and Women STEM students.

  • You will build and maintain positive relationships with employers and building partnerships with wider networks (public sector bodies/academia/education/trade unions) to support the Equate team aims and objectives and ethos.
  • Working closely with the Project Co-ordinator for CareerHub, and Training & Engagement Co-ordinator to ensure sharing of key contacts, best practice and service delivery.
  • Keep accurate data from events, manage budget, and provide reports as required to ensure project governance in accordance with the requirements of our funders and our key performance measures.
  • Work closely with the Support Team to provide timely and accurate event planning information, including post event follow up information and assessments.
  • Representing Equate at external forum or events when required.
  • You will be a role model the University’s values & behaviours.
  • Jointly managing annual flagship conference.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the information and records processed (received, created, used, stored, destroyed) on behalf of the University are managed in compliance with ALL applicable legislation, codes and policies e.g. Data Protection, Information Security and Records Management.

Who are we looking for

  • HNC or relevant work experience
  • A great communicator
  • Experience in training delivery
  • Effective communication skills including report writing
  • Ability to assess/analyse information/data to inform key learnings and continuous improvement in Equate Scotland knowledge on issues affecting gender equality.

*This is a fixed-term position until 30th September 2022. Equate Scotland have secured funding from the Scottish Government for the next 3 years 2021-2024 via Inspiring Scotland and the contract operates on an annual basis)*
