Scottish Women’s Aid is Scotland’s leading voluntary sector organisation working to prevent domestic abuse and promote effective policy and practice responses for women, children and young people who experience domestic abuse. We are the umbrella organisation for 34 autonomous Women’s Aid groups delivering direct services to women, children and young people across Scotland.

The Role

Scottish Women’s Aid is recruiting for the role of Member Services Manager, based in our Edinburgh office. Reporting to the CEO, the Member Services Manager is responsible for the management and development of Scottish Women’s Aid Member Services, supporting the strategic position, practice and service delivery of local Women’s Aid services.

What You’ll Do

As a member of the SWA Management Team, the Member Service Manager shares responsibility for development, planning and implementation of SWA’s strategy. The role holder will ensure that a strong and mutually supportive relationship is maintained across the network of local Women’s Aid services, informed and developed by members’ needs. You’ll also line manage the Members Service Team, supporting staff to deliver relevant projects internally and externally, support for provision of high-quality specialist services across the Women’s Aid network. You will facilitate a culture where communication, respect and staff wellbeing is at its core.

What We Need

The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the policy and legislative context in which SWA operates, with a strong background in service development, delivery and review. It’s essential that you will have team management experience, with the ability to engage and motivate staff to deliver in line with organisational objectives.

We’re looking for someone who has

· Understanding of a gendered analysis of domestic abuse and the impact on women, children and young people

· The ability to positively influence others, internally and externally, to build effective relationships

· Effective planning, organisational and time management skills

· Experience of setting budgets and managing budgets including forecasting and monitoring
