Firstport is Scotland’s agency for start-up social entrepreneurs. We are a small, ambitious group of companies with a Scotland-wide footprint providing high-quality, sustainable services to develop social business start-ups. We are looking for up to three new board members to broaden and strengthen the skills and experience of our existing board.
As a board member, you will oversee our governance and financial arrangements, ensuring that we operate in line with best practice and our charitable objectives. You will play an important role in our future direction and will provide support and motivation to the board and the Chief Executive.
We are particularly interested in applications from individuals who can demonstrate specialist knowledge, skills, and/or experience in one or more of the following fields:
• Early-stage investment and finance for scale
• Impact Assessment and/or Management
• Data Driven Innovation
• Setting up and/or running a social enterprise/social venture
• Climate Change/Net Zero

The selection process takes place in two stages:
Stage 1
A selection panel will assess applications received by the deadline date. Applications will be assessed against the person specification, skills and attributes described in the role description. The selection panel will shortlist the applicants who most closely meet the requirements of the post and will invite them for an interview. Shortlisted candidates will be notified by cop Wednesday 27th October 2021.
Stage 2
Interviews will take place w/c 1st November and will be conducted online. The Board expects to appoint up to three new board members at the Firstport AGM which will take place at the end of November.
