Role

Changeworks is offering an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified professional to lead and manage projects and research focused on the energy transition to Net Zero. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record of delivering research and developing and managing projects. You will have considerable experience and an in depth understanding of a range of qualitative and quantitative research techniques, ideally in an energy or sustainability related context. Prior experience of delivering within a consultancy setting would be ideal along with evidence of a contribution to secure new commissions.

Based within our Consultancy Team, the role requires effective working with a diversity of Changeworks projects and external clients. Our busy Consultancy team works across the sustainability agenda and has a particular specialism related to energy efficiency, heat decarbonisation and renewables in the built environment, fuel poverty and pro-environmental behaviour change.

The successful candidate will be able to draw on a range of experience that will convince us that you can lead and manage research and continue our development and growth pathway in this area. You will have a commitment and passion for this field, be organised and proactive, as well as having a creative streak that will allow you to identify innovative solutions, work round problems, identify new areas of work and promote and disseminate our work. The ability to effectively manage staff, deal with multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a supportive team environment is essential.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant increase in the number of pilots and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and external organisations in this area. It is critical at this time of policy development and innovation within the sector, that decisions are informed and opportunities scoped with the benefit and insight gained from high quality research. While many changes proposed are technical in nature, all of them have a human component and all require change to take place in the context of a Just Transition. You will therefore be part of an organisation that sees success as delivering interventions that have both positive outcomes for people and their wellbeing as well as building fabric.

Changeworks offer an attractive staff benefits package which includes an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.
