Due to the expiry of the term of office of the current Chair, COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland) needs a new Chair to provide strategic direction and governance.

As Scotland’s professional body for counselling and psychotherapy, COSCA aims to advance and support all forms of counselling, psychotherapy, and the use of counselling skills, build confidence in counselling and psychotherapy and protect the public in its use of services.

The Chair will be a facilitator, a diplomat, a communicator, a coach, a leader and a listener. The Chair will:

• attend and chair Board meetings (4 per annum)
• provide leadership and guide the members of the Board to set overall policy and targets and monitor outcomes
• understand the voluntary sector, governance of a charity, charity law and the funding of charities
• be committed to the advancement of counselling and psychotherapy and enthusiasm for COSCA’s work
• be a strategic thinker, be able to communicate well and work collaboratively with colleagues and the Chief Executive
• be willing to devote time and effort to the organisation and represent COSCA where appropriate.

Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

Health in Mind offers a range of counselling services. We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Counsellor to join our team in a self-employed capacity. You will provide face-to-face and online one-to-one counselling individuals facing a range of emotional and psychological challenges across our five counselling services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver confidential counselling sessions tailored to client needs
• Maintain accurate and timely client records
• Work collaboratively and have good communication with the Counselling Team Leader and Administrator
• Uphold ethical and professional standards in line with BACP guidelines

Requirements:

• Recognised counselling qualification (Diploma or Masters Level)
• Registration with COSCA, NCPS, BACP, UKCP, HCPC or other relevant professional body
• Experience working with diverse client groups, including people who have experiences of trauma
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Established in 2018, Moray Rape Crisis provides therapeutic support, information and advocacy for adults and young people of all genders, aged 11 and over, in the Moray area, who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives, including rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. We also work directly with young people in schools and youth settings, and with strategic partners, towards preventing sexual violence.

We are seeking motivated Trustees to help govern our growing and developing service in Moray.

Working to intersectional feminist values, we are seeking a diverse range of women with a commitment to the work we do across Moray. We are particularly interested in applicants with knowledge and experience of HR, communications and marketing, fundraising, counselling and psychotherapy, trauma-informed practice, and equality and human rights.

About us

Express Group Fife is a well-established mental health charity operating in Fife for almost fifty years. We provide group activities for people over 18 experiencing poor mental health. The aim of the groups is to promote positive mental wellbeing by providing a safe place for sharing experiences and peer support.

There are currently 12 groups across Fife each week, supporting about 150 individuals during the year. Every person’s story is unique, and everyone’s route home is different - it doesn’t matter what the situation is – we’re not here to judge, only to help.

About the role

As well as leading the team, the Service Manager will contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the charity, ensuring all services are delivered to a high standard.
