Role
LANDED Peer Education Service is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, caring, and dynamic individual with excellent communication skills to join our existing team. The post holder will be responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers and developing our Volunteer Peer Education Programme.
LANDED Volunteer Peer Educators are the driving force behind all other strands of our work and are key stakeholders in everything that we do as an organisation. We are excited to be beginning a new chapter, working alongside our volunteers to improve & develop existing services & create new ones. LANDED is a Lanarkshire-based charity that raises awareness of youth health issues to encourage young people to take responsibility for their own health and well-being. There are four distinct strands to our work: Supporting young people to become efficient peer educators, raising awareness of health issues among young people attending groups in the community, increasing the knowledge, understanding and capacity of staff members through staff training delivery, and resource development – developing resources to support workshop and training delivery.

This role will support the CEO, Deputy CEO & Operations Leader and wider Leadership Team (LT) by leading on administrative, clerical and finance support including HR & Payroll administration, Salesforce CRM updates/reports, office enquiries, board/LT administration and operations assistance where required.
We are looking for someone who has experience in office management and administration, with strong interpersonal skills to manage internal and external relationships effectively and appropriately. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and have an understanding of HR requirements, including relevant policies and procedures, and Health and Safety. Experience using CRM systems and accounting packages such as Xero would also be desirable.

As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for organising and facilitating group activities for children, young people and adults. You may also give individual support when appropriate and be involved in the development of new programmes. You will have an understanding and experience of families who are experiencing difficulties (including additional needs) and an ability to quickly build rapport.
You will ideally have experience of delivering informal, formal and at times complex interventions to children, young people and adults and have a clear understanding of the benefits of individual and group support.
You will be confident in taking the initiative, have problem solving skills and bring an enthusiasm to the role. Furthermore you will have the ability to think ahead, be highly organised and be able to input data into our systems and produce any necessary reports.
Our befriending groups run from 6pm – 8pm in the evenings.

In Edinburgh this is directly managing Our Visiting Home Service in the Northwest and Southwest of the city as well as overseeing the management of three supported accommodation programmes in the Broomhouse and Pilton areas. Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Directly manage delivery of the Edinburgh and East service and be service located in the city(potentially from Leith in the first instance)

What we expect from you

We need you to be qualified to SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare (previously Health and Social Care), SCQF Level 7 or HNC in Social Services. We also need you to be qualified in, or willing to work towards SVQ Level 4 Social Services and Healthcare and SVQ Level 4 in Management, or SCQF equivalent.
We’re looking for someone that has experience of managing a service, with the ability to lead and take ownership and accountability for the programmes. We also need you to have knowledge and experience of working to Care Inspectorate standards as well as having experience of building, leading and managing a team.
What you can expect from us
We value our staff as our greatest asset and will provide the following working conditions:
- The post holder will report to the Head of Operations-Services.
- Your normal working hours are an average of 35 per week. These hours are usually worked Monday to Friday, and flexibly between the hours of 8.00am to 6.00pm, with core hours over the period from 10am to 4pm with one-hour unpaid. Variations to these hours must be agreed with your line manager.
- Your usual place of work will be 26 Leith Walk, Edinburgh, EH6 5AA
- Annual leave entitlement of 210 hours holiday (equivalent to 6 weeks) pro rata per year in the first year rising to 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) pro rata per year in the second. This includes public holidays.
