Action Against Stalking (AAS) was established as a charity in 2014 by its Founder, Ann Moulds, following her successful campaign Action Scotland Against Stalking, which led to the introduction of the ‘Offence of Stalking’, Section 39 Criminal Justice & Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010. The charity champions the voice of stalking victims, provides a free and specialised service to victims and engages with communities to promote greater awareness and resilience.
This is an exciting time to join AAS. We have been acknowledged in Scottish Parliament in 2020 for our achievements as the only stalking-specialised charity in Scotland. Our success has led to increased awareness and demand for our services has more than doubled in the past year. We have received additional funding from the Scottish Government and are also expanding our unique and empowering Throughcare Service for victims of stalking. Be part of the dynamic team establishing ground-breaking developments for AAS to be an even stronger voice for victims of stalking.
The AAS unique Throughcare Service for victims of stalking is delivered by experienced practitioners. We are recruiting a highly motivated individual who has a passion for promoting the interests and values of AAS; and who shares our commitment in championing the rights of victims of stalking. Applicants should be experienced in working with victims of crime or trauma. It is essential that they take a person-centred approach in dealing with the victims. They will have a track record of embracing equality, diversity and inclusion. This is a part-time (14 hours per week) and fixed-term 12-month post. The post may develop and be extended, subject to securing continued funding and satisfactory delivery of the key result areas.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the award-winning DFN Project SEARCH University of Aberdeen team as Lead Consultant (Administration). You will provide professional administrative support to underpin the smooth running of the day-to-day operations of the programme, with responsibility for supporting the team with office-based tasks including arranging meetings/events, processing expenses, maintaining classroom records/files and supporting the programme’s monitoring/reporting requirements to external organisations.
The Candidate
You will have previous experience in a similar administrative role along with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages. Utilising excellent communication skills, you will be the first point of contact for the classroom, ensuring queries are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner. As a results-oriented ‘team player’, you will demonstrate a high level of personal initiative to produce accurate work and proactively manage a varied workload.

Policy Officer (Scotland)

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of developing and promoting evidence based policy solutions, a track record of working with policy makers and a strong desire to help end child poverty.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate complex policy ideas in an accurate but accessible manner so that non-specialist policy makers can understand and act on them. You will have an understanding of policy making and parliamentary processes and will play a key role within CPAG in Scotland working alongside our Early Warning System project manager and social security experts to identify policy issues and inform policy makers and politicians.
You will also play a key role in writing high quality consultation responses, briefing papers, reports and other policy resources promoting CPAG's wider policy calls.

The advocacy worker has a key role within the Ceartas team, undertaking a range of advocacy services which may include empowering, informing, enabling and representing service users in a variety of settings.
You do not necessarily have to have experience of delivering independent advocacy but you will have a strong knowledge and understanding of the role of independent advocacy and its guiding principles. Full training and support will be provided.
