An extremely rare opportunity has arisen to manage a dynamic youth, children & community organisation.
Knightsridge Adventure Project S.C.I.O.-The Vennie, is a registered charity.
The organisation is well established in Knightsridge area of Livingston, West Lothian. Scotland
The Vennie’s mission is to provide high quality youth work services that support children and young people to flourish. We support the community through various means, especially through our food outlet and community garden. We aim to nurture aspirations, build relationships, provide opportunities, and strengthen well being of people & families from the community.
The candidate for this post will be able to form and develop positive and compassionate relationships with children, young people and families. Have good interpersonal skills, as well as experience in designing tailored group work programmes. You feel confident communicating, with a solution focussed attitude.
Manage/oversee established youth clubs, bike lending library, community garden, outreach work and food outlet.
As well as evidencing your work, you can prioritise and meet deadlines. You hold knowledge and practice in relation to children and young person’s issues.
Ideally; you will have experience of working within S.I.M.D. areas. You will be asked to support staff and volunteers; to utilise youth work and/or community engagement skills. Work collaboratively with partners, Local Authorities, and other public services to create new opportunities or develop existing ones
You are flexible, given the remit of the role, as some evening and weekend work will be necessary.
You should be familiar with the Capacity Building process. This will include: writing funding application, project development, monitoring & evaluation

LAYC is recruiting a Project Worker to support the delivery of accredited learning and youth awards, with the network of community-based youth and children’s Member Groups within Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Intensive Support Team – Youth Support Worker

To provide 1:1 support and potentially group based support to children and young people living in Pilton and the surrounding areas, in North West Edinburgh.
Pilton is an area of multiple deprivation where young people and families face a range of challenges.
Support sessions will take place across the week, usually in schools. The service is referral based working with a host of other organisations and also taking referrals from young people and families.
The Youth Support Worker will support young people with a range of issues affecting their lives, such as social isolation, school related difficulties, family problems, or poor mental health.
The Youth Support worker will develop a tailored plan with each young person to work towards positive outcomes in their lives.

COVEY provides 1-1 and group-based befriending, mentoring and family support.
COVEY has an exciting opportunity available for a Coordinator to manage delivery of 1-1 and group-based befriending/ mentoring support to children and young people.
COVEY’s consistent relationship-based support, which is centred on the participant’s needs, interests and hopes, improves health and wellbeing, social connections, confidence and increases their engagement with education, training, volunteering or employment. As a Coordinator, you will have the ability to work collaboratively with children, young people, their families and others who support them. This will involve engaging with various, community, statutory and voluntary agencies and working in close partnership to support vulnerable families. You would ideally have experience of supporting volunteers, managing a caseload, evaluation and monitoring. We are looking for someone who has a real passion around supporting those who are most vulnerable in our community. Knowledge of rural Clydesdale would be advantageous.
