Role

RNIB Scotland is seeking an experienced PR and Communications Officer to play a key role telling our story and communicating our vision of a world where there are no barriers to people with sight loss.

You will support the planning and delivery of all aspects of PR and comms activity, contributing to securing media coverage for RNIB Scotland through writing and editing press releases, research, and interviewing case studies.

You will also support the generation of content for social media and other written materials such as blog posts, features and statements.

About you

Experience of working with Scottish media on public relations campaigns, including policy and campaigning issues, is essential, as is experience in generating proactive media coverage across all channels (print, broadcast and online).

Experience of working with media on both a reactive and proactive basis, and the ability to remain calm and in control when under pressure ensuring deadlines are met, is equally important.

You will also need the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, and will need to be able to understand complex information quickly and present and explain it to others.
