Role

Key and Community Lifestyles provide person-centred support to over 2100 people, across 16 Scottish local authorities, to enable them lead full, active lives in their own homes and communities. Our staff work in partnership with each person, and those closest to them, to plan and offer support which focuses on them achieving the life they want, and which adapts and changes as they do. Key is also a Registered Social Landlord working across Scotland, mainly providing housing to disabled people with around 800 tenancies as well as numerous staff bases.

As a result of internal developments, we’re excited to be recruiting to the new full-time post of Health and Safety Manager, working across Key and our subsidiary, Community Lifestyles, which will enable us to build on our commitment and work to date around organisational health and safety.

Health and Safety Manager

With a degree level health and safety qualification or equivalent and chartered membership of IOSH/other relevant professional body we are seeking an experienced Health and Safety practitioner with a real awareness of the challenges within social care.

As the competent person you will advise senior managers on health and safety matters to support collective and organisational decision-making across all aspects of our work, including our support services, Registered Social Landlord function and responsibilities as an employer.

You will, in partnership with others, lead on the:

  • systems and processes in relation to Fire Risk Assessments for Houses in Multiple Occupancy/Short Breaks services and office accommodation
  • continuous improvement of health and safety policies and procedures in light of legislative, best practice and organisational learning.
  • development and delivery of a new operational Health and Safety audit programme in line with our Quality Assurance Framework
  • further development of effective communication and consultation with our workforce ongoing evolution and delivery of Health and Safety-related training for managers

The post is based in Glasgow but will involve some travel across Scotland.
