Role

Are you looking for an exciting challenge? Scotland’s leading environmental charity is looking to refresh their staff induction programme to help them tackle the climate emergency. This is where you come in.

Changeworks is a trusted expert, delivering solutions for low carbon living for over 35 years’. We’re looking for a talented learning and development professional with strong instructional design and creative skills to help redevelop our staff induction programme and make a real difference. We need you to transform our traditional learning delivery model into a more streamlined and accessible e-learning programme that is SCORM compliant.

The Challenge

Changeworks has a bold and ambitious strategy to expand our activities and make a meaningful impact in addressing the climate emergency in Scotland. To deliver on our ambitious goals we need an effective onboarding programme to recruit, support, and retain our staff.

We need to ensure that all our new starts get the key information and learning they need in a timely and consistent way. So that all our new starts can succeed in their roles, you’ll develop and implement new e-learning and blended approaches to create a modular induction programme.

You’ll make sure that the induction programme is informative, interactive, engaging and takes account of individual learning styles. It will also meet all legislative, compliance, organisational and individual needs.

What does success look like? A well-developed informative, accessible, and engaging induction learning programme that ensures our staff have all the information they need to thrive in their roles.

The Role

You’ll be a specialist in learning and development with a sound knowledge of relevant standards, adult learning theory and approaches. Using your extensive experience of working with subject-matter experts and stakeholders, you’ll identify existing learning assets and curate engaging and impactful content to organisational change initiatives.

You’ll have experience in the application of the full e-learning design cycle, adult learning theory, accessibility standards and best practice. You’ll also have worked with Learning Management Systems to enable content to be effectively deployed, tracked and evaluated.

Whether you are looking for a temporary or full-time role, or a freelancer working on a self-employed basis, we’re looking forward to starting this three-month long challenge with you in early April 2023.

Benefits

Changeworks is a great place to work. We hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation (something only a few organisations in Scotland have), and we were nominated for employer of the year by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce this year. Our staff overwhelmingly would recommend us as an employer too.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and external organisations in this area. These include area-based domestic energy efficiency retrofit and decarbonisation projects and programmes.

We are a growing organisation, and this role is crucial to the delivery of our ambitious objectives. We want to decarbonise homes in Scotland on a massive scale, and that needs talented individuals like you to help us deliver on our objectives. You’ll receive full training plus coaching and mentoring.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, bike to work scheme, an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus nine public holidays per year.

At Changeworks, we welcome and encourage applications from everyone.
