Due to the expiry of the term of office of the current Chair, COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland) needs a new Chair to provide strategic direction and governance.

As Scotland’s professional body for counselling and psychotherapy, COSCA aims to advance and support all forms of counselling, psychotherapy, and the use of counselling skills, build confidence in counselling and psychotherapy and protect the public in its use of services.

The Chair will be a facilitator, a diplomat, a communicator, a coach, a leader and a listener. The Chair will:

• attend and chair Board meetings (4 per annum)
• provide leadership and guide the members of the Board to set overall policy and targets and monitor outcomes
• understand the voluntary sector, governance of a charity, charity law and the funding of charities
• be committed to the advancement of counselling and psychotherapy and enthusiasm for COSCA’s work
• be a strategic thinker, be able to communicate well and work collaboratively with colleagues and the Chief Executive
• be willing to devote time and effort to the organisation and represent COSCA where appropriate.

Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

Health in Mind offers a range of counselling services. We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Counsellor to join our team in a self-employed capacity. You will provide face-to-face and online one-to-one counselling individuals facing a range of emotional and psychological challenges across our five counselling services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver confidential counselling sessions tailored to client needs
• Maintain accurate and timely client records
• Work collaboratively and have good communication with the Counselling Team Leader and Administrator
• Uphold ethical and professional standards in line with BACP guidelines

Requirements:

• Recognised counselling qualification (Diploma or Masters Level)
• Registration with COSCA, NCPS, BACP, UKCP, HCPC or other relevant professional body
• Experience working with diverse client groups, including people who have experiences of trauma
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Hearts & Minds is a Scottish charity bringing joy and emotional support to children in hospital, children with additional support needs, and adults living with dementia through our Clowndoctors and Elderflowers programmes.

We’re seeking a skilled Finance & Administration Officer to help manage our day-to-day finance and office systems. You’ll handle bookkeeping in Xero, support the CEO and accountant with reporting, and maintain systems across Microsoft 365, Teams and Beacon.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone highly organised, practical and detail-focused.

MHAP is one of the longest-running independent advocacy organisations in Scotland, and we are now recruiting a new team member to help expand our individual and collective advocacy services for people experiencing mental health challenges and/or addiction issues.

We provide advocacy support to adults aged 18–65 who live in West Lothian or are receiving treatment here. Our work takes place in a range of settings, including St John’s Hospital, HMP Addiewell, and various community locations, as well as home visits when required.

Individual advocacy involves working alongside people on a one-to-one basis to ensure their voices are heard and respected. We support individuals to understand their rights, make informed decisions, and have meaningful influence over matters that affect their lives.

Collective advocacy involves working with groups of people with lived experience to explore shared concerns, identify common themes, and influence service development, policy, and decision-making at a wider level.

This is a varied and rewarding role that can make a real difference in the lives of people who may otherwise be marginalised.
