The National Park Authority runs a thriving volunteer programme that makes a significant contribution to protecting the National Park’s future. From practical conservation tasks to our Volunteer Ranger routes, the programme draws together opportunities to get hands-on in tackling the nature and climate crises, and inspiring visitors to look after the National Park. The programme welcomes people from all backgrounds, offering skills development opportunities, a chance to meet like-minded others and have an enriching experience protecting the National Park.
Our Education, Inclusion & Volunteering team are looking for an exceptional individual to join us as Volunteer Adviser and lead this programme.
The Role:
You will lead both the development and day-to-day management of our volunteering programme. Work with other teams within the National Park Authority and partner organisations to identify and support the development of volunteering opportunities, providing guidance and advice to ensure these are meaningful and impactful for both the National Park and volunteers.
This role involves line-managing the Volunteer Support Officer and close working with the Assistant Volunteer and Education Officer, as part of the multidisciplinary Education, Inclusion & Volunteering team.
You will have experience of all aspects of volunteer management, from creating engaging and inclusive recruitment plans to developing opportunities with stakeholders for volunteers to contribute to the National Park’s strategic priorities, as well as wider project management experience including reporting and budget management. In addition, this experience should be underpinned by applied knowledge of the national volunteering sector, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
