By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as a Senior Project Support Officer you can be the difference between people just surviving and really living.

You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. Our Hospital to Home services from a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke.

There are approximately 8,000 OHCA calls each year in Scotland, and 6,000 confirmed arrests (3,200 worked arrests). Based on a Bystander CPR rate of 65% (worked arrests - will be less for non-worked OHCA), it is estimated that the maximum number of bystanders per year would be approximately 3,900 events Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest Aftercare funding call 2022 - application form (some may have multiple bystanders) therefore an upper estimate of 5,000 bystanders could be presumed.

The Senior Project Support Officer will provide the day to day project support in the project support in the scoping, planning, budget, and delivery of OHCA project objectives and outcomes. The OHCA Senior Project Support Officer will ensure all administrative support is delivered to the OHCA project manager and project steering group as required.

The purpose of this role is to coordinate and oversee the planning and implementation of the OHCA project within the PE & Advice Line Teams. This role is responsible for progressing the OHCA project and ensuring the project plan is delivered within the set 10 months post.

The Senior Project Support Officer is responsible for completing all project paperwork and seeking approval of this paperwork from the project manager. This role is responsible for identifying project risks and resolving these as appropriate. If unable to resolve, the senior project support officer should escalate to the project manager.
