Role

The Camas Resident Staff Team is responsible for the leadership and support of volunteer staff and guests in the “common life” at Camas, as well as the planning, co-ordination and running of the weekly programme for Camas Centre guests. As a remote, off-grid community committing to a basic, simple and sustainable lifestyle, all resident staff must hold additional responsibility for specific areas of Camas to maintain the centre.

The Camas Maintenance Worker will have specific responsibility for

  • Ensuring the Camas facilities and equipment are maintained to a safe and high standard, while observing Camas’ environmental and ethical policies. Facilities include the Camas buildings, grounds and track.
  • Coordinating and supervising Camas team members and guests in routine maintenance work.
  • Liaising with and working alongside outside contractors where necessary.
  • Supporting specific maintenance projects on Iona during agreed periods.

Posts are offered on a 3 year fixed term contract, Start date : ASAP but no later than 6th March 2023.
