Role

The Green Action Trust is one of Scotland’s leading environmental charities. We deliver positive change through environmental regeneration, building more sustainable communities and a greener Scotland.

As a Best Companies ‘One to Watch’ Employer, at Green Action Trust we do things differently: we believe in balancing life and work; we work flexibly; we invest in our people by offering training and support and, above all, we value our staff.

We have an exciting opportunity within our Development Team to lead on behaviour change and stakeholder engagement activity for a large-scale regeneration programme in Leven in Fife. This post will oversee the development of plans for community wealth building activities through providing behaviour change and engagement support, that will inform delivery phase applications to Sustrans and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

This is a 28 hour a week position until 30 Nov 2023 with the potential for extension until 31 March 2028, subject to funding. Further information on the Leven Programme can be found in the recruitment pack.

We are looking for an individual who is solution-orientated, motivated by their work and has enthusiasm for improving the environment. Applications are sought from individuals with:

  • a background in stakeholder and community engagement, behaviour change and community wealth building
  • excellent communication skills
  • computer literacy skills
  • experience working with communities
  • experience of working on large, multi-disciplinary projects would also be desirable

We are currently operating a hybrid working practice, with home working combined with office working from our office in Shotts, North Lanarkshire. We are also exploring a hub space within Leven itself. Travel within Scotland is potentially required; therefore easy access to transport is essential and clean driving licence and access to a vehicle, desirable.

The Leven River Parks project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to create this post for the development phase of the project.
