We are recruiting a Family Group Decision Making Coordinator to join our team in South Lanarkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our partnership with South Lanarkshire local authority, to extend and develop a rights-based approach to working with families and communities through Family Group Decision Making. This post is working with the Young Person’s Service who offer intensive support to young people aged 12-18.

Although this is a small service, you will be working alongside wider multiagency partners. You will have the opportunity to shape and develop our approach and activity and be part of transformation change for children and families in South Lanarkshire.

Children 1st are trauma informed and strength based in our working alongside Children and Families. Through family Group Decision Making, the post holder will engage with children and families to ensure their voices are at the heart of planning and decision making in matters that affect them.

We are therefore looking to recruit a dynamic, experienced individual who can drive the successful development of our activity and reach and support and contribute to our innovative partnership.

We are also determined that the full incorporation of the UNCRC means that children will have their rights respected in all areas of their lives and will have a real say in the way they are supported. This is a fixed term, full time role of 35 hours per week, funded initially until 31 December 2023. Flexible working, job share, and part time will be considered.

Base & Travel

You will be based in the Youth Support Service based in Hamilton and will be expected to travel to connect with colleagues and partners across South Lanarkshire and with Children 1st colleagues in other parts of the organisation.

Salary, Conditions, Pension
