Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity working locally to bring people together, take positive action on the climate emergency and support people through fuel poverty and food insecurity. We deliver a range of projects, events and skills training to achieve the needs and goals of local people – building resilience as a community and working towards a future where everyone can live better and tread more lightly on our planet.

Based in the heart of Kirkcaldy – with a community building, training kitchen, bike shop and garden – we carry out activities across Kirkcaldy and work with partners to deliver projects across Fife.

Growing and connection with nature has central to our work since the beginning. Our community training garden at Ravenscraig Walled Garden is a vibrant space. It offers courses, training and volunteer opportunities in gardening and growing. It also includes a community orchard, with over 100 fruit trees and a ‘wild area’ that is set aside for nature.

As lead partner of Climate Action Fife, we work with others to help people to garden in climate-friendly ways. We’ve helped people to plant fruit trees and we recently created a demonstration climate-friendly garden at our community building garden in Kirkcaldy town centre. We are always looking for new opportunities to help local people connect with nature on their doorstep.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to lead and develop our growing and nature connection projects work.

As part of our Community Engagement Team, you will work with staff, volunteers and partners. You will plan and deliver a diverse range of events, training and volunteer opportunities around growing and nature. We are keen to strengthen our ‘Plot to Plate’ activities, so you will work with our Community Food Team to connect growing with cooking classes, meals and food access projects.

You will play a key role developing new projects and activities, both grant-funded and income generating. You will support a Community Garden Worker and an enthusiastic team of mixed-ability volunteers to maintain and develop our community gardens and coordinate day-to-day activities.

You don’t need to be an expert in climate change or biodiversity. We will provide training and you will be supported by a great team.

We are now seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our motivated and multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will lead the delivery of complex environmental improvement projects, with a particular focus on our Water Environment Fund (WEF) portfolio. Working from feasibility mapping, through delivery to completion, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You’ll oversee procurement and contract management, collaborate with consultants and contractors, manage risk, project evaluation and reporting, and nurture positive relationships with diverse external partners, including SEPA, local authorities, funders, and community stakeholders. You will also provide guidance and support to Project and Development Officers involved in delivery, contributing to a culture of good practice, inclusion, learning, and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, pragmatic project manager with experience in environmental or civil engineering project delivery and familiarity with public sector procurement.

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust (the Trust) is looking for a full-time Individual Giving & Membership Officer.

Your primary role will be

• To provide an excellent customer service experience to the Trust’s members, donors, and supporters.
• Day-to-day management of the individual fundraising elements of the Trust’s Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Management database, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
• With the Individual Giving Manager (IGM), implement strategic initiatives to develop and grow income from Membership, Individual Giving and Merchandise.

The Individual Giving and Membership Team raises unrestricted funds for the Trust and stewards the membership lifecycle. These significantly contribute to aim 5 of the Trust’s strategy to be a sustainable organisation. The team also has a key contribution to strategic aim 2, encouraging individuals to take action to help bumblebees.

You will be a highly organised and detail-focused individual with excellent customer service skills across phone, email and written communication. Strong verbal and written communication abilities, alongside high computer literacy in Microsoft Office 365, are essential. You will manage detailed administrative tasks and be comfortable maintaining live data on the fundraising CRM database. You will work collaboratively to identify and implement system and process improvements, building effective relationships across dispersed teams. You will be a proactive team player who can independently plan and prioritise their workload, while recognising development needs and undertaking training to adopt new tools and technologies.

We are recruiting a Community Engagement Project Assistant to support the delivery of the River Park Programme, a key part of the wider Leven Programme, an ambitious regional regeneration initiative shaped with and for the local community.

In this role, you will help bring the River Park vision to life by supporting the organisation, promotion, and delivery of a varied programme of community events and activities. Working closely with colleagues, partners, and residents, you will help ensure activities are well planned, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating event logistics, assisting with set-up and materials, helping to create social media content, maintaining schedules and contact lists, gathering participant feedback, and supporting administrative tasks such as note-taking and resource tracking. You’ll also play an important role in engaging local groups and promoting activities to ensure the programme reaches a wide and diverse audience. Some evening and weekend work will be required, arranged in advance.

We are looking for someone with strong local knowledge of the Levenmouth area, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well as part of a team. You should be comfortable using basic IT tools and open to learning new skills, with support provided. An interest in community engagement, events, or working with local groups, families, or schools would be an advantage.
