Due to retirement of our current Groups Co-ordinator, we are looking to recruit an experienced practitioner to join our team based here in Alloa. This post involves overseeing our group work provision (mainly within the early-years framework) in areas across Clackmannanshire. The Groups Co-ordinator role is a hands-on role and is well supported by 2 Family Support Group Workers and a cluster of Group Volunteers.

The parents we support are struggling with daily challenges such as mental health illness, disability, poverty, domestic abuse, relationship difficulties, trauma, isolation and loneliness. In addition to our weekly Family Support Groups, we provide one to one support to families in their own homes and out and about in the community.

Key responsibilities:

• An understanding of the needs of children and families
• Experience of supporting babies and children (and parents) within an early years group setting.
• Relevant experience of working alongside families with young children and babies experiencing challenges/trauma
• Experience of working in partnership with both statutory services and third sector partners
• Good working knowledge of child protection and child development
• Good IT and Database skills
• A full driving licence and use of a car is essential.

Ideally, the successful candidate will hold a minimum level of SCQF Level 7 (SVQ Level 3) in a relevant field and show a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development. As is usual, this post is subject to membership of the PVG Scheme and suitable references.

To support capacity building within the third sector in Dundee to access funding from funders, leveraging money into the city.

This includes:

• Lobbying in relation to future funding; leading on external funding bids for third sector organisations; co-ordinating the development of project business plans as required; supporting and facilitating partnership bids within the Third Sector.

• Establishing strategic funding relationships; maximising funding opportunities available to Third Sector organisations to support Dundee City Plan priorities and Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership outcomes and to better the lives of people and communities across Dundee.

• Capacity Building to support third sector organisations to become self-sustaining, such as bid writing, project development, monitoring & evaluation, fund management

VisionPK is a small charity offering support and services to people in Perth & Kinross who have sight or hearing loss.

We want to recruit an experienced Worker to develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate our new ‘Listen Up’ project, an ongoing programme of group activities, learning and support for people with hearing loss.

With at least 2 years community development experience, your experience will include working with older people, setting up and facilitating groups, recruiting and managing volunteers and using a strengths-based approach to your work. You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, with excellent people and communication skills. You will also need to be flexible, open to change and fit well with our values.

The Service

Steps To Success in Grangemouth provides residential accommodation and support for care-experienced young people aged 16-25 to help them to gain the skills needed to live independently before moving on to a permanent tenancy elsewhere. The service is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Job

Your main role will be to support care experienced young people to create a home, offering practical, emotional and social support to assist them to develop the skills necessary for successful independent living. You will need to be able to develop warm and effective relationships with service users, supporting them to cope with their lives in a positive and planned way so that they feel valued and supported and in control of their own lives.

You will ideally have some experience of multi-agency working, housing support/care at home systems and knowledge of the challenges faced by care experienced young people. You will participate in a rota which includes waking night shifts and weekends but has plenty of time off in between shifts to ensure a healthy work/life balance.
