Top job! Executive Director

  • Part time
  • £44,000 pro-rata
  • Remote (UK charity)
  • Closing 21st November 2022

  • Advertised from 3rd November 2022
  • Reports to: Board of Trustees. 17.5 hours per week (potential for growth dependent on charity performance). Contract (6 months then rolling dependent on performance). Salary (£22,000 per annum).

Role

Since launching in 2021, Covid Aid has reached more than 200,000 people across the UK with support, advice, and information, built a community of more than 1000 members, been nominated for multiple awards, and as a small charity has recently secured lottery funding which will see us continue to deliver services into 2023.

At the moment there are more than two million people around the UK who have been living Long Covid, with families and loved ones dealing with the deaths of more than 200,000 people. With rates high, these are numbers which continue to increase – and with media attention elsewhere the fight for support around Covid-19 becomes more important than ever.

With continued growth in mind, we are seeking an enthusiastic and highly capable Executive Director who can lead us on the next phrase of our journey. The initial contract is for six months, with a view to extending this dependent on charity performance and the funding landscape.

Along with Covid Aid’s Chair and the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the charity is carrying out the purposes for which it is set up
  • Meeting the needs of its members and ensuring it is providing vital support to those significantly affected by Covid-19 across the UK
  • Growing the charity, and raising the visibility of Covid Aid and the support it is providing
  • Providing a voice to those that the charity represents, and furthering our impact at policy and campaign levels
  • Securing funding and support for Covid Aid to ensure its sustainability in providing support to people around the UK for as long as is required
