If so, then our Community Gardener role may be the one for you.

About our community garden project

We support people in our community garden to feel part of something, learn new skills and create a place where people feel close to nature.

This post supports the management of people on community payback orders. The focus is on creating and managing a programme of gardening and landscaping activity for those on payback orders to participant in.

We support a maximum of four people at a time to help create and maintain beautiful gardens for the hospital and local community to enjoy.

We aim to support people to gain new skills and to be better connected in their community.

About the role

You’ll be:

• Supporting and encouraging people on community payback orders to take part in the maintenance and vision of the community garden

• Working as part of a team, with some lone working, to ensure the gardens are well maintained and people are offered meaningful gardening activities

• Supporting people to gain new skills

About You

We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest and knowledge of gardening and working in the outdoors. You will be someone who has excellent interpersonal skills and has a want to inspire and motivate people while maintaining strong professional boundaries.

There will be great opportunities for you to learn and develop, while sharing your skills and experiences.

How we’ll support you

You’ll be joining an experienced and knowledgeable team who will give you full training on all aspects of your role. You’ll also have access to wider Cyrenians support, including our learning and development programme, and staff wellbeing services.
