Due to increased funding and an expansion of the service MELD is looking for a number of highly motivated individuals to join our recovery team. We are recruiting people who are committed to providing services for individuals with substance use issues, who can work effectively as part of a dynamic team and in partnership with statutory services.
The role of the Peer Support Worker is to provide and promote peer support and recovery services to people moving on from the problematic use of alcohol and drugs. This will be achieved by supporting people in the different phases of their recovery from initial engagement with services and the recovery community through to options for education, training, volunteering and employment. The successful candidate will have a lived experience of recovery and support services and have a minimum of one year free of any problematic substance/alcohol use. There are no formal qualification requirements for this post as training will be given, but experience of supporting this client group is desirable.
